Jaap Strijker

Dancer/Singer/Actor/Model

At the moment Jaap is working as a freelance Dancer/Singer.

Jaap graduated in 2006 in Performing Arts from the Fontys Dansacademie in Tilburg, The Netherlands.

Whilst training, Jaap appeared in several school productions, among which History of the Musical, choreographed by Barrie Stevens, Wilma Hoornstra and Pattie Obey, KRO's Festival van de Schoonheid and Fame de Musical.
In 2004, Jaap performed as Ensemble in The Life, directed by Paul Ewijk and choreographed by Melise de Winter. In june 2005, Jaap was part of the Ensemble of the musical The Dutch don't Dance, directed by Barrie Stevens and choreographed by Pattie Obey.

Jaap made his professional debut in the musical industry performing as Ensemble in Mark Vijn's musical Sweet Charity, directed and choreographed by Craig Revel Horwood. Subsequently, between 2005 and 2006, Jaap was a solo singer in Jeans 16, with which he went on tour around The Netherlands (choreographed by Adam Richens under the musical direction of Bert Stoots).

In 2007 Jaap played the part of 'Kwark' in Tika is Jarig at the Efteling Park in The Netherlands (directed and choreographed by Wilma Hoornstra, produced by V & V Entertainment).
Other musical credits are:
'Prins' in the musical Cinderella, directed by John Yost and choreographed by Melise de Winter (Kaatsheuvel).
Ensemble and understudy 'Troy' and Coach Bolton' in Stage-Entertainment's 'Highschool the Musical'.
Ensemble and 1st US 'Bert' in the musical 'Mary Poppins'.
Ensemble in K3 musical Alice in Wonderland.
